Tiffany Black Takes to the Sky

As if Tiffany Black’s work as Medical Imaging file room supervisor at Fauquier Hospital isn’t exciting enough, she recently had a high-flying adventure.

The 39-year-old recently tried skydiving.

She said, “I wasn’t really scared to jump out of the plane. I felt comfortable with the person jumping in tandum with me.

“At the beginning, you are only in free fall for about a minute, but it feels like a couple of minutes. After that, the parachute ride down is peaceful and serene. My controller let me steer and I pulled on ropes to control where we went. It was very pretty. The parachute ride is only 4 or 5 minutes, but it feels like about 10.
“At the end, it seems like the earth is coming at you really fast, but then you pull up just at the last minute and glide in.”

What’s next? Tiffany said, “I would like to jump alone next time ... and I think I’d like to try hang gliding.”
