Earth Day at Fauquier Hospital

Fauquier Health joined the rest of the nation in celebrating Earth Day last Thursday, April 22.
• Employees submitted their ideas on how to recycle, reuse and reduce trash and were included in a special Earth Day video that was shown throughout the day in the Bistro on the Hill.

• Employees submitted entries for a Recycled
Accessory Contest. (Community Outreach employee Barbara Crierie won the contest with a homemade blanket, at right.)

• Employees and members of the public “recycled” their blood by donating at the American Red Cross Blood Drive.
• Almost 50 people participated in the Unwanted Medications and Sharps Drop-off Day on April 24.

• Staff members picked up trash around the Fauquier Hospital campus in their spare time.

• Visitors to the Bistro learned about environmentally sound practices at
education tables set up in the Bistro and took Earth Day quizzes.
